At Hastings Brass Foundry Ltd. Sand castings weighing from a few ounces up to 2000 pounds in brass and 700 pounds in aluminum are produced in non-ferrous alloys. Support services provided in and out of house include, pattern making, conventional & CNC machining, heat-treating, metal finishing, hardness testing, destructive and non-destructive testing.


Alloys Melted
Numerous alloys are melted and poured daily which fall into the following general alloy groups.

  • Copper based alloys  → Include :  Brass, Bronze, Ni Al Bronze, Silicon Bronze, Manganese Bronze
  • Aluminum based alloys → Include : A356 T6, 356, 535, 710, 319

Metal Control
With the use of our spectrograph, we ensure chemical accuracy and repeatability at a minimum cost by sampling each heat of metal prior to pouring.

Process Control & Quality Levels
With the use of trained personnel and process controls in place, this ensures consistent quality at a minimum cost.
In order to manufacture top quality commercial castings we have in place, qualified personnel and quality assurance manuals. We were the first non-ferrous sand casting foundry in Canada to be ISO-9002. We are now registered  to ISO 9001-2000.
Before shipping all castings are given a 100% visual inspection. Where required Hastings Brass regularly produces castings to latest Military Standards as well as ASTM, ABS, Lloyds, Bureau Veritas, DNV and others.Providing quality non-ferrous sand castings, using comprehensive facilities.
